What cookies are and why we use them
A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store on the device you are using. When you return, your browser sends that file back to us, which lets the site recognise your device and remember a few things about your last visit. Similar technologies, such as pixels, tags and local storage, work in much the same way, and this policy covers all of them.
We use cookies for four broad reasons:
- To keep the site working properly, including signing you in, holding your session open while you move between pages, and protecting your account from unauthorised or fraudulent use.
- To understand how the site is used in aggregate, so we can identify faults, fix errors and improve pages that people find difficult to navigate or complete.
- To remember settings you have chosen, such as your preferred language, display options or whether you have already closed a particular notice or message on the site.
- To measure our own advertising and, where you have agreed to it, to show you adverts that are more relevant to you.
Cookies set by us are described as first party. Cookies set by providers we work with, for example for analytics or advertising measurement, are described as third party. We do not permit those providers to use cookies on our site for purposes we have not asked them to carry out.
The types of cookies we use
We group cookies by purpose. Only strictly necessary cookies are set automatically. Everything else is set after you have given consent in the cookie notice, and you can withdraw that consent whenever you wish.
Strictly necessary cookies
These keep the site secure and usable. Without them, pages would not load correctly and you could not use your account. Examples include keeping you signed in as you move between the lobby and the cashier, and spreading traffic across our servers so the site stays available at busy times.
Performance and analytics cookies
These tell us how the site is being used, in totals rather than by name. Examples include counting how many people land on a page and leave without going further, and recording the point at which a slow page is abandoned.
Functionality cookies
These remember choices you have made so you do not have to make them again. Examples include your preferred language or display settings, and whether you have already closed a message on the site.
Marketing cookies
These help us measure our own advertising and, where you have consented, allow selected partners to show you adverts away from our site. Examples include recognising that you arrived from a particular advert, and limiting how often the same advert is shown to you. We do not use marketing cookies to target anyone who has asked us to close or restrict their account.
| Group | Main purpose | Set only with your consent |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Security, sign-in and core site functions | No, these are always on |
| Performance and analytics | Measuring how pages are used | Yes |
| Functionality | Remembering your settings and choices | Yes |
| Marketing | Advertising measurement and relevance | Yes |
How to manage cookies on our site and in your browser
There are two places to change your choices: the cookie notice on our site, and the settings in your browser.
In the cookie notice on our site
When you first arrive, the cookie notice asks which groups you are happy for us to use. You can accept all of them, decline everything that is not strictly necessary, or decide group by group. The same settings can be opened again at any time from the cookie preferences control in the site footer, and your new choice applies from the moment you save it.
In your browser
Every current browser lets you block or delete cookies. The wording differs between them, but the steps are usually similar:
- Open the settings or preferences menu in your browser.
- Find the section covering privacy, security or site data.
- Choose whether to block all cookies, block third-party cookies only, or delete the cookies already stored.
- Where it is offered, set the browser to clear cookies each time you close it.
Mobile devices also carry their own privacy settings, including a control over advertising identifiers, which sits with the device rather than with us. Clearing cookies in one browser does not clear them in another, and choices made on your phone do not carry across to your laptop.
What happens if you block or delete cookies
Declining anything other than strictly necessary cookies will not stop you using the site, although some things will work less well. If you block strictly necessary cookies, parts of the site will not work at all.
- You may be signed out as you move between pages, or unable to sign in at all.
- The cashier may not be able to complete a deposit or withdrawal request.
- Settings such as language or display choices will reset on every visit.
- You will see the cookie notice again each time you arrive, because the record of your choice is itself stored in a cookie.
Cookies, your account and safer gambling
We hold a gaming licence and verify the age and identity of everyone who plays with us. Our site is for adults aged 18 or over only. Cookies help us apply those rules, for example by keeping an unverified session separate from a verified one, and by recording that an age confirmation step has been completed.
Safer gambling tools do not depend on cookies. The deposit limits, loss limits, session reminders, time-outs and self-exclusion shown in your account are held against your account with us, so they stay in place whatever device or browser you use, and whatever cookies you have cleared. GamStop operates separately again, across participating operators.
If gambling has stopped being a pastime, free and confidential help is available from GambleAware, GamCare and the National Gambling Helpline, and you can exclude yourself from online gambling through GamStop.
How to contact us about cookies
If you have a question about this policy, want to know more about a particular cookie, or think something on the site is not behaving as described here, write to us at support@casinofoxybingo.co.uk or use the live chat on the site. Please tell us which browser and device you are using, as that helps us look into it quickly.
We update this policy when the cookies we use change, or when the rules that apply to them change. The current version always sits on this page, and we will ask for your consent again where a change calls for it.
